NOT JUST FLEURONS.
THIRD YEAR UNIVERSITY PROJECT.
This was a third-year university project completed for the ISTD Not Just Fleurons brief, which invited a rethinking of traditional typographic ornament. I focused on translating historical decorative forms into contemporary 3D space, using digital tools to modernise the fleurons and give them new structure, weight and dimension. Rather than simply reproducing heritage motifs, I approached them as sculptural objects, building a visual system that plays with materiality, lighting and form. The project became a dialogue between the classical and the contemporary, honouring the past while exploring how ornament can exist in today’s design language.
