Breath: interrupted,
fragmented,
(restrained)
UNIVERSITY MAJOR PROJECT.
This major project is a deeply personal and abstract exploration of asthma, translated through experimental editorial design. Rather than taking a clinical or medical approach, the book visualises the internal, often invisible experience of living with asthma through form, colour, and typographic expression. Informed by poetic design thinking and layered research, the piece evolves from simple conceptual sketches to a rich, immersive artefact. The visual language is deliberately abstract, reflecting the unpredictability and emotional weight of breathlessness. Coherent colour theory and typographic rhythm are used not to explain, but to evoke. This project represents the fusion of research, design experimentation, and personal narrative, anchored in empathy, and designed to be felt as much as understood.
